Signing of Memorandum of Understanding between KEIND and the Ministry of Empowerment and Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (Kemen P2MI)

Jakarta, [February 19, 2025], the Indonesian Entrepreneur Chamber (KEIND) and the Ministry of Empowerment and Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (Kemen P2MI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) as a form of joint commitment to promote the economic empowerment of Indonesian migrant workers. This agreement covers strategic collaboration in capacity building for Prospective Indonesian Migrant Workers (CPMI), former PMI, and migrant workers' families through a series of entrepreneurship training programs, productive business assistance, and expanded access to the national entrepreneurial ecosystem. The scope of cooperation includes: • Training and capacity building in entrepreneurship for CPMI and former PMI • Assistance in community-based business development • Strengthening business partner and collaborator networks at the national and regional levels The signing of this MoU is part of KEIND's efforts to expand the organization's role in supporting government programs and addressing the economic challenges faced by migrant workers and their families. This cooperation also reinforces the role of entrepreneurship as a sustainable solution in building economic independence after overseas placement. With this partnership, it is hoped that a more inclusive and integrated empowerment ecosystem will be formed, so that Indonesian migrant workers can become part of a stronger, more independent, and sustainable economic transformation.
